Scarce 45 rpm surf rock: SCOTT DOUGLAS - Pretending / A Hundred Thousand Ways - Blue Horizon 6053, circa the 1961-62. The Ventures are the backing band. According to the NW Music Archives website, "Josie Wilson, owner of Blue Horizon Records, (was) the mother of Ventures' rhythm guitarist Don Wilson"; she "discovered" Douglas, "then encouraged The Ventures to instrumentally back him on two Blue Horizon 45 rpm releases", of which this is one. It does have issues but seems to be really uncommon, too.
Condition: G to G+ (a 4-inch-long 1/4-inch wide portion of the edge of both sides got overheated and it causes a repeating 'fsst' sound for the first 30-45 seconds of each track; on side A it cause one tiny skip at the beginning of side A, but with a penny on the head it didn't skip; otherwise some minimal background; very minimal label rubbing).
