Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. - JIM MORRISON type vocals in best of the style.
- Or maybe it's actually Jimbo ?
-
- 1970: The Christmas Happening – Worldwide attention was on tens of thousands who attended a free open air rock concert in Laguna Canyon by El Toro Road (“Woodstock West”) that lasted several days.
- Representative highlights of the event was caught on vinyl in a very small West Coast pressing titled 100% UNKNOWN FIBERS due to the obscure (unknown) artists performing such as SEA & EAST UTOPIAN MISSION, and "LIVE WIRE" - though the entire album sounds as if recorded by just one acid-jamming heavy psych band.
One of the members gives information as follows: - Gary Brauer on guitar, Jim Langenheim on drums, Bill Sharplin and
Kathy Sacks on vocals, and Skip Parks (me) on bass playing at this 1970 "Woodstock West" Christmas Festival. Earlier My younger Brother Jimmy on guitar and Richard Wilkins on bass played a few tunes with Buddy Miles on drums, Buddy also played guitar with my brother and Richard on bass on track 6 of the record.
The music is mostly jammy acid-rock typical of the era, predominantly instrumental workouts on Hendrix and Cream riffs, with lots of raw fuzz leads and some vocals. One track has a trancey folkrock feeling, including flute. All over it is reminiscent of some of the Yahowa 13 basement jams, like those heard on “I’m Gonna Take You Home”, minus Father Yod. There’s some nice grooves and feedback soloing here and there. It’s hard to determine, but there's at least four different outfits performing on the album, as the mixing and soundscapes differ, even while most of them are stylistically similar. A high point of the LP is the inclusion of several microphone raps from the Laguna Greeter and others, including the plea for Thorazine in order to help bring acid-casualties back to earth. The stage announcements combine with the crowd ambience, hovering police helicopters, and raw, improvised psych-rock music to capture this moment in time, warts and all.
Beyond these immediate impressions, the release of the “100% Unknown Fibers” LP remains a mystery. The newspaper articles, contained no references to any album release. The prevalent theory was that the record had been put together as a side-project by a local record pressing entrepreneur, an industry which had its ground zero in the Los Angeles/Orange County area. - CONDITION:
