SEALED Angry Samoans BACK FROM SAMOA album
  -- 1982 Bad Trip lp 1st pressing
(original owner, i.e. me)

plus i can throw a couple of free euro trip poster(s) 2008 and 2010 etc (see the 2010 jpeg/picture), nothing spectacular, regular slick thin stock/glossy, but which can be "folded once" and stuffed inside the  record mailer which itself will be inside another box, like this actually --
PACKING:  first, the lp goes inside a regular album mailer.  THEN, that gets packed inside a slightly larger (than 13" x 13") hard-shell box (with "flaps," not a fold-over top lid/bottom lid) -- "double boxed," one might call it.

WHY / HOW this sealed lp is getting sold (original owner here) --

this is not an item that i would normally dispose of -- but just last week, i discovered that i also have a long forgotten** (misfiled**/misplaced** ) EXTRA dupe of this album (also sealed, unopened) besides just this one.  which would be in addition to our current-century's vg+ "rack copy"** that gets played on the Technics SL-1700 once every couple of years. huh!

personal opinion:  the Bad Trip orig pressing sounds GREAT.  they semi-lucked out (for the year 1982, definitely) by getting a good vinyl-quality and pressing (which only having not quite 9 minutes on each side, definitely also helped).  and the album's mastering (done upstairs at Quad-Tech Studios by pat burnette who had engineered/produced/mastered the Germs album three years' earlier, was so good/different from the norm (as requested by the band) that in its time it was a "whoa, this does sound different." what, a punk rock band that had a guitar sound on record that killed small animals at ten feet away, thanks to the mastering engineer cranking the EQ in that direction (guitars -- upper mids, that simple)?  every record should sound like that!

ANYWAY (1) it makes sense here at HQ to turn this "uneeded extra extra copy" (i.e. a second dupe) into some Xmas $$ cash to buy a pile of cheap stuff with here and there (translation: cheap books and records, repeat repeat, even if most of them have already been stockpiled during the course of the year "for later routing") to a few people that have no problem (in lieu of a "normal Xmas shopping" dumbass present like all the normies wind up having buy/or get) getting lots of super-cheap books and records!  (can anyone say "a 20ct box of albums that were only 50c each from the endless rasputin's san jose or berkeley understock last summer?" i knew you could)

AND along the same line of thought, we're pricing the Buy It Now maybe 25% cheaper than average (which popsike says is somewhere in the $100 range), no problem.

FOOTNOTE: this extra dupe/sealed copy is definitely from the second 5,000 copies that were pressed a few months after the first 5,000, since that's when i bought it at the berkeley Rasputin's store, where they had copies in stock in/out/in/out, ever since the album's release in late 1982.
if i remember correctly, Bad Trip original pressing didn't become offically "out of print forever" at retail until some point into early-mid 1985 maybe.

(fwiw, one thousand cassettes were also pressed and sold.  and per the instructions of the bass player todd, mastered as requested, i.e. as a NON-dolby cassette pressing)

** footnote --
well that's can happen when you live in the same house for 30 entire years.  you put something in a different place (than it had been, for over a decade), and it makes perfect sense to do so at the moment when you do it -- but uh oh, a few years later it has joined the land of the semi-lost, i.e. "i thought i had two extra copies of that album? to use one of them for trade someday" oh jeez, well whatever.  and then umpteen years later, it turns up (stored properly, just in a place that was long forgotten) as a "how on earth did it get here?"  and there is the copy listed here.
