Description
ATTENTION BEATLE FANS & VINYL COLLECTORS:
This is a SEALED copy of the 1996 "Limited Edition" pressing of "The Beatles" (better known as the WHITE ALBUM).
Catalog number is C1-46443...The double LP was released on Apple / Capitol records.
Shrink wrap is fully intact- complete with black "Limited Edition" sticker on front. Lettering is embossed on the front cover (very much like the original pressing).
Based on my own (opened) second copy of this pressing, inside the gatefold cover, you will also find the classic 8x10 photos of the Beatles as well as the poster- complete with printed lyrics on the reverse side.
The labels on this particular edition are quite unique because they feature the iconic granny-smith apple against a white background (as opposed to the usual black background).
This was the last time to date that the WHITE ALBUM was pressed on vinyl. During the premiere of "The Beatles Anthology", EMI / Capitol opted to press the entire Beatles British catalog one more time on vinyl for the '95-'96 Christmas season...after that, it became CD all the way.....
Finally, this particular pressing is from the German "Direct Metal Master" recording. This is considered by audiophiles and critics to be the best- sounding version of this recording: smooth lows and razor-sharp highs with a nicely balanced mid-range.
Overall, this is a MUST-OWN addition to any Beatles collection!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
