This is a rare, Limited Edition, Serial Numbered 1990 first pressing and sealed album of Ringo Starr entitled, "Ringo and His All-Starr Band". This original first pressing album is on Ryko Analogue Records RALP-0190. This is an extremely tough album to find out there still sealed and this one is gorgeous, all around! Overall in a solid NM condition and it's going to be a great find for the right collector and for the serious audiophile! Really pristine album...
Overall I would grade this sealed album as NM condition. It is important for me to point this out, especially for the very selective audiophile collectors. See the photos for yourself and it doesn't get much better than this one, rest assured. Four sharp corners, great shrink wrap seal, perfect OBI Banner wrapped vertically around right side of LP, great spine and seams and with No issues whatsoever. Truly a gorgeous Limited Edition/Serial Numbered album. This one is serial # 2044.
Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band is Ringo Starr's first official live album, and the first album recorded with his All-Starr Band, recorded in 1989 during his successful comeback tour and released in 1990. It was also Starr's first release of unheard material in seven years.
Booking himself on the road from July to September 1989, Starr was accompanied by Dr. John, Joe Walsh, Billy Preston, the Band's Levon Helm and Rick Danko, Nils Lofgren, Clarence Clemons, and session drummer Jim Keltner. The shows were often sold out and were well received. The performance contained here was recorded on the closing nights of the US tour at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
This album comes right out of my own personal sealed vinyl collection and I have had it carefully stored in a special Bags Unlimited corrugated box made specially for precious vinyl. My vinyl collection is much like many folks' 401k investment... I guard it with my life. You know it is coming from a great audiophile now.
I have described this total LP as accurately as possible and it will be a fantastic addition to any collector's records. I'm quite strict about my grading.
In 1977 Mobile Fidelity began to produce a line of records known as "Original Master Recording" vinyl LPs. These albums were previously released by other companies, licensed by Mobile Fidelity, and remastered by a process called half-speed mastering. During mastering, sound was transferred from magnetic tape to disc while the cutting lathe moved at half speed. The albums were remastered from the original analog master tapes, without compression, and with minimal equalization.[2] The recordings were pressed in Japan on "Supervinyl", a plastic compound invented by JVC to compensate for the demands of Quadrophonic Compatible Discrete 4 records, which had been introduced in 1972. JVC Supervinyl was more durable than regular vinyl, with lower surface noise and fewer pops and clicks. Mobile Fidelity packaged their albums in heavy cardboard sleeves, inner cardboard stiffeners, and plastic liners.
