Original concert recorded Live at the Fillmore East, March 12 & 13, 1971, by special arrangement with Bill Graham. Compressed into the microcosm of this 2-LP set, the Allman Brothers were enshrined forever as the greatest American band. Duane Allman, then on 23 years old, created guitar improvisations that could calm an stormy ocean, followed by Dicky Betts on dual guitar and brother Greg Allman on vocals and keyboard, supported by a rhythm section that roared like a freight train.
Staggering live versions of originals such as "Whipping Post," "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," and "Hot 'Lanta," are matched by definitive cover versions of classic blues standards "Statesboro Blues," "Done Somebody Wrong," "Stormy Monday," "You Don't Love Me."
