Description
Offered is "The Beatles Story". This is a Mint factory sealed double LP on the Capitol label, STBO-2222. Because of the factory sealed state of this gate fold album I cannot determine the pressing date or label variation with absolute certainty. However, it is likely a 1978 issue with purple labels. I base this on the following facts:
This example has a poster board cover with a reverse fold. There are two breath holes in the shrink on the front cover.
The "MADE IN U.S.A.* FACTORIES:SCRANTON,PA.-LOS ANGELES,CALIF." blurb is printed at the bottom of the back cover.
The Purple label issues of "The Beatles Story" are the last known releases of this title. These last examples were pressed in limited numbers making them instant collectibles!
