Shigeo Seikito's unstoppable The Word II returns, pressed on clear green vinyl for this reissue of the 1975 cult Electone LP. Known to most by way of its eerie standout 'The Word II' - lifted by Mac DeMarco for the hot-iron indie brain-brander 'Chamber Of Reflection' and later sampled by Huncho Jack on 'How U Feel' - the album holds a strangely spiritual grip on several scenes: hip-hop diggers, Balearic heads, ambient dreamers. Seikito, based in Japan, built the record almost entirely from Yamaha Electone layers, conjuring uncanny hybrids of lounge, mood music and space-age melancholy. Long whispered about among collectors and sample nerds, it's now the most widely streamed Electone recording on earth. Comes housed in a gatefold sleeve with obi strip, plus extensive liner notes by Chee Shimizu in Japanese and English.
