Description
Up for auction is a superb and stunning copy of the Serge Chaloff classic album "Blue Serge" released on Capitol Records (T 742) in 1956. This is a guaranteed original and authentic mono pressing on the correct Capitol turquoise label. Front cover is in beautiful shape, looks close to as if it were just taken out of the original shrink wrap. Clean and bright graphics, bone white frame edges with no aging. Corners are sharp, no bumps, no dings, no rubbing loss. Small hint of rubbing along the bottom "frame" seam and a little darkening rub along the top frame seam are the only "flaws" to speak of. Seams are strong, intact, no chips, no cracks, no flaking, no splits. Back cover looks pristine, bone white, no writing, no ring wear. I'd grade the cover Near Mint (NM). The vinyl is equally top notch. The original luster shines like new, not a scratch, scuff, or mark on it. Labels are bright and clean, unmarked. Hard to say there are really any signs of previous handling or play. I have play tested this record (on my Oracle Mark V turntable with Van den Hul cartridge), and it sounds absolutely beautiful and clean, plays as new. It really captures Chaloff's deep baritone in all of its pure mono, full-bodied potential. Simply beautiful example of this pressing. I would grade the vinyl Near Mint (NM), my highest grade. This is the nicest open copy of this record I have ever come across, and I'm sure that will hold true for you too. 100% guaranteed, risk free buying. Money back, no questions asked. My 100% positive feedback on record sales speaks for itself.
