SEX PISTOLS – NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS HERE'S THE SEX PISTOLS – ORIGINAL 1977 WARNER BROS RECORDS / VIRGIN BSK 3147
1977 U.S. COLUMBIA HOUSE RECORD CLUB PRESSING
THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC, U.S. PRESSING; THIS IS NOT AN IMPORT, OR A COUNTERFEIT PRESSING.
Never Mind the Bollocks is mostly correct, but it would be a terrible mistake to dismiss Never Mind the Bollocks as a bunch of loud, raggy mid-tempo rockers with hard, raspy vocalists and not much melody. The anthemic song transcends already in Johnny Rotten's frenzied, frenzied delivery. All his intimidating sentiments and his bitingly ironic attacks on the very foundations of British society were delivered in the most confrontational and disrespectful way imaginable. Most imitators of the Pistols' rampant nihilism missed the point. Beneath the shocking tactics and theatrical negativity was a social critique carefully designed for maximum effect. Nevermind the Bollocks was the perfect expression of frustration, anger and frustration with the British working-class establishment. The Pistols paved the way for countless other bands to make similarly defiant statements, but arguably none were so bold and effective. It's easy to see how the band's roaring energy, overwhelming pomp and angry rant on Rotten sparked a musical revolution. Never Mind the Bollocks is his one of the greatest and most inspirational rock records of all time.
