Description
Fans, collectors and lovers of Punk / New Wave and particularly The Sex Pistols music may want to keep an eye on this rarely seen copy of Free Festival released by Jem Records.
This extremely rare 1977 vinyl sampler from the leading record importer of the era was intended to introduce the U.S record retail market to the best music coming out of the then-new UK punk and new wave music scene. Because many of these artists had yet to sign with U.S. labels, this sampler served as the American debut of many of these soon to be household names, most notably The Sex Pistols. Elvis Costello first appeared in this country on this vinyl. A complete list of the 13 tracks and artists featured on this LP includes: "God Save the Queen" by Sex Pistols, "In the City" by The Jam, "(I'm) Stranded" by The Saints, "I'm Not Angry" by Elvis Costello, "White Snake" by David Coverdale, "Racing Cars" by John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett, "Hot for Teacher" by Thundertrain, "Inside Out" by Genesis, "Fugitive" by Duncan MacKay, "TV Love Story" and "Wake Up" by Kolonovitz, "Spanish Knee" by Hugh Hopper, and "Vedi Amsterdam" by Le Orme

Side two is mint / gorgeous. Side one has a scuff on all tracks except track one but play tested perfect. The cover is a bit dirty and see above description for more details.
