S.F. Sorrow ~ Pretty Things ~ SX 6306 Columbia Black/Blue MONO -1/-1 ~ VG/VG/VG
Release Info
The first 'Rock Opera' which sold poorly upon release due to little promotion by E.M.I. in the UK and an awful US release version.
A visionary album which employed many new recording techniques and electronic equipment during its recording at Abbey Road studios
The Columbia Mono version of the album is preferred by the band and is also quite rare nowadays.
This is a quality album pressed on thick heavy weight vinyl with the original black & blue textured label.
A real collectors peice of classic 60’s Psychedelic Rock

Vinyl condition: VG
Labels: The labels have a course textured finish found on early pressings. The text is crisp and clear, the black and blue still looks bright. Really nice with very feint trails
Spindle hole: Nice and clean
Playing surface: Both sides have a nice luster and are pretty good. Side 1 has a few very light hairlines and some handling marks under light, but its pretty tidy. Side 2 has a few hairlines and a couple of groove lines, however again the marks are quite light.
Run Off: Some very very light marks, but nice and shiny
Overall it looks good and is a quality pressing
Sound: VG
This record has been been listened right through;
Both sides sound really nice. There are a couple of small spells of surface noise on the last tracks each side / quiet sections of the LP, otherwise its as close to NM for sound with great range and clarity
Overall a good sound, with some surface noise on the last track each side, but great range and power
Cover, sleeves and insert condition: VG
Spine: The laminate has cracked and there is some rub with white showing and some heavy creasing, The the S from Sorrow is rubbed too. The top bottom edges are dented and rubbed also
Seams: Nice and straight and undamaged
Opening: Still straight and in really nice shape
Front Cover: The spine creases is showing at the spine edge with 9 1-2 com creases to the laminate. The top seam edge has 4 1 cm creases, bottom edge has 1. Bottom corner 1 inch crease. A few crescent shaped 1 inch lifts to the cover too. Overall it actually looks bright and still displays very well.
Back Cover: Under light there are some small lifts to the laminate. There are also some crease viens along the Top/bottom seam edges and the spine edge too. The rear looks great
Gatefold area: A small 1 inch circular grubby patch left side near middle crease, but its obscured by the bright red print. Other than this its really tidy, bright and clean. The flip back edges are very slightly creased, but its hardly noticeable
Sleeve: EMI advert sleeve is really tidy with catalogue number written top left
Overall this record sounds great with some minor noise. The vinyl presents very well and it has a solid cover which is only let down by the spine creasing and cracking. Its free from rips and tears.
Due to its rarity this is a highly prized and sought after collectors peice.
