THE SHADES OF DARKNESS-45-“She Ain’t Worth All That” b/w “Someone Better”-Shades Records #71031-FANTASTIC 1967 GARAGE MASTERPIECE out of Fredonia, New York (Near Canadaian border)-A side has all the elements of a KILLER PUNK MASTERPIECE-Really crude, primitive, cryptic, sloppy, sort of off-key...just great-gutteral lead vocal, off-key at times, structure sounds like a cross between ‘I Can’t Keep From Crying” and the Seeds’ “Pushin’ Too Hard”-guitar dominated, really great, crude and extended lead guitar break; B side is a Garage Ballad-sort of Question Mark & The Mysterians, only primitive, with a sloppy lead guitar break. The sound is on par with the likes of THE KEGGS and HEATHANS and that is a high compliment!!! DYNAMITE...... Condition: Record is hard to grade-looks decent, but has some wear, slight scuffs, a couple of small surface scratches, and has a slow warp which plays fine tracking at 1 gram on a Thorens turntable. Some obvious background noise is evident.
