Description

This is a fantastic album by the relatively obscure Chicago blues artist Shakey Jake perhaps better known as mentor for his nephew, guitarist Magic Sam. The album was recorded in 1968 and released on the brilliant UK Liberty Bluesmakers imprint in 1969.  It features the excellent guitar work of Luther Allison who went on to feature on many blues albums in the 70's.

Having heard Shakey Jake on a Decca EP a year or two earlier I bought this album from Rushworth & Drapers in Whitechapel, Liverpool shortly after its release and it remains one of my favourite albums of this genre. Some of the guitar playing rivals that of the great Peter Green.

The vinyl is in excellent condition as  is the laminated flip-back sleeve which has one minor mark on the flip-back.

The spine is fully intact and legible

The record will be sent in a new record mailer with cardboard stiffener and posted by Royal Mail First Class.

If you want to bid for further items and hopefully combine postage it is important that you let me know. I will combine postage wherever possible but payment must then be made not later than 7 days after the first auction has ended. Please wait for my invoice before paying.

If you are not bidding on other items payment must be made by no later than 48 hours after the auction has ended. If you fail to pay by 48 hours or contact me within this time I will open an unpaid item case.

Any questions please ask before bidding and remember that none of the records I list are mint or near mint unless stated. In grading my records I use the Record Collector grading classification.

This is a UK posting only listing.
