Description
Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my Beatles, Rolling Stones and some progressive records that are form my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, an extremely rare first U.K. STEREO pressing of Shakin’ Stevens and the Sunsets – A Legend on Parlophone, cat. no. PCS 7112 with ONE EMI BOX on the label.
The record is in EX condition, there are a few non-sounding hairlines only. The labels are in EX condition as well, I could not find a single spindle mark.
The cover is in EX minus condition, the front has a little age browning in the white areas just next to the opening edge and the back has some slight discolouring in the centre area, some very slight ring wear, very slight age browning on the opening edge and also a very tiny professionally tape repaired tear on the opening edge. These very small damages are nothing serious in my opinion. The original sepia tinted EMI advertising inner sleeve is also still present and is in EX condition. Besides a little age browning, it looks in perfect condition.
This is the rarest Shakin’ Stevens album especially in this condition. Back in 1970 when this album was first released it did not sell well. Later in the 1970’s Shakin’ Stevens became a very popular artist, but EMI did not repressed his debut album and it became incredibly sought after. This very first (and probably only) pressing of this record is a must have for all Shakin’ Stevens and rockabilly fans! Happy Bidding!
