Overview
A stunning and highly regarded release on the ECM label, “Pancha Nadai Pallavi” showcases Shankar at his creative peak, blending Indian classical traditions with ECM’s signature spacious, high-fidelity production. The album centres around intricate rhythmic cycles and expressive violin work, creating a deeply immersive and meditative listening experience. Widely considered one of his finest recordings, it’s a standout title in the ECM catalogue and a great piece for collectors of world and jazz fusion vinyl.

Sleeve
The sleeve presents beautifully with sharp, clean artwork and strong contrast. Structurally excellent with only very light signs of handling. There is a small rub mark on the front (see photos), which is minor and does little to detract from the overall presentation.

Grading: Excellent (EX)

Inner Sleeve
Original inner sleeve in near mint condition. Clean, crisp and very well preserved.

Vinyl
The vinyl is in superb condition with a deep, glossy sheen and extremely well-kept surfaces. Presents to a very high standard.

Vinyl Audio
Playback is exceptionally clean, with the kind of clarity and depth ECM pressings are known for. The sound is open and detailed, with excellent separation between instruments and a very natural, spacious presentation. Quiet passages remain impressively silent, allowing the subtle dynamics and textures of the performance to come through beautifully. No issues with skips or jumps. A superb listening copy.

Grading: Near Mint (NM)

Record Labels
Labels are in near mint condition with clean surfaces and strong print. Very minimal signs of use.

Grading: Near Mint (NM)
