Rare original 1959 UK pressing of the Bassey Spectacular double-LP on Philips BET-505. This is one of the earliest recordings of Bassey, and finds her with the brilliant Wally Stott as her arranger. These early pressing are very hard to get, and are usually destroyed. The later reissue is much more common, as she suddenly was famous after doing the theme from Goldfinger, and her early records were re-pressed to meet the new demand. The first editions are very hard to come by. And this is a beautiful copy. The discs are both excellent, with maybe a couple of light superficial marks, but they play absolutely flawlessly all the way through. The laminated cover is also in exceptional condition, with only a little wear, mainly a soft crease at the lower right corner. A bit of light wear in general, but overall intact, shiny, and beautiful. This is a top original, hard to beat.
