Description

Shirley Elizabeth Collins - False True Lovers, 1959 Folkways Records, FG 3564  Original rare U.S. only pressing.
The record looks to be in excellent condition, with just approx 4 - 5 very small light marks visible. The whole album plays beautifully, there are some light pops in 3 - 4 places, but nothing offensive. For the most the sound is rich, deep and very clear, with no annoying hissing or background noise. 
The hard card textured sleeve is in excellent (+) condition, with virtually no signs of wear, and is clean and fresh looking. The original booklet is in excellent condition. Also has the original card separator which is in excellent clean condition. Both labels date this record as 1959, while the cover says 1960. The album is often seen with a pink sleeve, but this has the light blue one. I have been unable to determine from online sources whether the colour of the sleeve has any bearing on the age of the pressing. All I can say is that the light blue sleeve is seen more rarely than the pink one and that it is the light blue sleeve that features on the website of Smithsonian Folkways – check here: http://www.folkways.si.edu/shirley-elizabeth-collins/false-true-lovers/celtic-world/music/album/smithsonian  Because of this I have described this as an original pressing rather than a first pressing, being unable to prove either way.  It is though an extremely rare record and this copy is in excellent condition.
