Description
This is a very fine original U.S. pressing copy of the fourth and final LP by Austin, Texas, group Shiva's Headband, released on the local Moontower label in 1984. The group was a key player in Austin's late '60s countercultural scene, serving as the house band at the city's Vulcan Gas Company club, and subsequently helping to finance the club Armadillo World Headquarters. Their first two LPs were released within two years of each other (1969-71); their final two LPs, by contrast, came out at broader intervals (seven and six years). Their swan song finds them sticking to the same basic sound as their earlier outings, with Spencer Perskin's violin and unique vocals prominent, but updating things with crisper production and a few high energy rock songs. The jacket is close to pristine (M-). The disc is clean, and plays like new -- M(-).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
