Description

Trumpeter/Flugelhorn maestro SHORTY ROGERS released COURTS THE COUNT in 1954.  First issued on the prestigious RCA Victor label in the US, this copy is one of those originals in a gatefold sleeve (subsequent reissues were only in a single sleeve).
His band featured some of the 'jazz stars' of the day, such as Maynard Ferguson, Jimmy Guiffre, Zoot Sims, Bud Shank, Shelly Manne and others.
This copy was passed to me by a family member and is from my personal collection.  The vinyl is listed as in Very Good (VG) condition. It has a visible scuff line on Side 2, with that and other areas creating a few light audible clicks, however the whole record plays throughout with no skips or jumps (played on a high-end turntable) and is in great condition, considering it is 72 years old!
The sleeve is listed as Very Good Plus (VG+) with no marks, writing or rips.  The spine and the inner opening have split along the edges, but the whole sleeve is in amazing condition for its age.
