 LP : Shuggie Otis ?– Here Comes Shuggie Otis US pressing on EPIC, BN 26511, orange label. Vintage pressing, NOT the current re-issue ! This is Shuggie Otis solo-debut recording from 1970, when he was hard-to-believe 16 years old ! Devided between instrumental and vocal tracks, Shuggie Otis plays all kinds of burning funky blues-guitar: bottleneck, acoustic & electric. The music is pretty varied: there are some slight psychedelic tunes, some STAX like soul, groovy R&B and some outstanding funky instros. You might find sound-clips of the CD reissue in the www. I also offer an original US-pressing of „The Johnny Otis Show – Cuttin' Up” in my current auctions, recorded a few month later, when Shuggie was still 16 years old, this one has also some raw funky stuff. I also offer the even earlier “Cold Shot” LP from 1968 ft. a 15-year old Shuggie Otis.

Condition: the record looks & plays in mint-. The cover shows some shelfwear, all seams/spine are intact with some rub ( but more on the bottom ), front & back are fine with little ringwear on the front, moderate cornerwear; overall vg/vg+.

Zustand: die LP ist optisch & akkustisch in mint-. Das schwere US-Cover hat ein paar Lagerspuren, alle Kanten sind intakt aber mit Abrieb an einigen Stellen ( aber mehr an der unteren Kante ), Vorder- & Rückseite sind recht gut erhalten mit etwas Ringwear auf der Vorderseite, leichte Gebrauchsspuren an den Ecken; insgesamt in vg/vg+. alle Platten habe ich professionell gereinigt und angehört (meist ganz, manchmal in Ausschnitten). Kommen mit neuer Außen- & Innenhülle !

Grading & Cleaning:

  • the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

  • after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

  • I also visually graded the record in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

  • only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

  • cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve
