SIGNED DC 1984 60s PUNK GARAGE COMP. VERY RARE !!!!!

From the same agent of cool that brought you "What A Way To Die!" This album presents some fine teen outfits from Washington, D.C. and the surrounding area - some of these groups hail from various towns in Virginia rather than the District Of Columbia - but you get the basic concept, right?

This record should stand as an example for other compilers to follow - excellent track selection, no filler whatsoever, thoroughly researched and well-presented liners, and great sound quality. In other words, when you put this disc on your record player you can crank it up all the way without it sounding like mud! What's more, you can play it from end to end without having to skip over all the lame tracks - `cos there ain't any!

From the outset - the Drag Kings scratching out a primitive dirge about the important, yet oft-forgot-about historical event, "The Midnight Drag Of Paul Revere," to the climactic title track - December's Children Ltd's desperate and dramatic interpretation of the Love classic - it's all 100% boss!

The most played cut on my copy is "The Legend Of Tarzan" by the Grey Stokes, the liners say it best - it "redefines `primitive'!" In other words, it sounds like a teen surf group playing in King Kong's village!

Also, pay heed to the words of infinite wisdom offered by the Flys: "Be what you is, Not what you ain't, If you ain't what you is, You is what you ain't!"

There's plenty more too - the local champions, the British Walkers, with "Bad Lightnin'" (read all about `em in "Breakthrough," address elsewhere in this mag), the Moon Men can't lose, aided by the genius of both Link Wray and Joe Meek, and the Hangmen's fab classic, "What A Girl Can't Do" - to name but a few.
