Description
METALLICA ‘ONE’ 7” VINYL SINGLE
WITH ORIGINAL STICKER AND UNFOLDED POSTER FROM 1989
SINGED BY JASON, LARS, JAMES, KIRK and ROBERT
This auction is for my SIGNED 7” vinyl single of ‘One’ including the poster which came with it in 1989 when I bought it from Vibes Records in Bury, UK.
This is the version which has a sticker on the sleeve saying – This Single Comes with Free Unfolded Poster Ask at the Counter. The poster is in good condition as I have kept it rolled up in a tube since unpinning it from my bedroom wall many years ago, because of this there are some pin holes in the corners of the poster.
The record itself has ‘One’ on side 1 and Seek and Destroy (live) on side 2. I have just played both sides and Seek and Destroy plays well all the way through but ‘One’ has some scratches that cause the needle to stick (a tap on the turntable allows it to carry on playing though).
The sleeve has been signed by Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo and Jason Newsted. Jason signed the sleeve for me back stage after the show at the Birmingham NEC on the 5th November 1992 (I still have my back stage and Snake Pit passes stuck into the programme) – the other members of the band did not come out to see the fans after this particular gig. It was not until 2009 when I met the rest of the band (including Robert), at the meet and greet in Sheffield Arena on the Death Magnetic Tour, that they signed the sleeve for me (I appear briefly on the Metallica Club web site video of the M&G). The sleeve has a couple of creases on it (from when it was stuffed down my t-shirt during my time in the Snake Pit at the NEC gig), but as you can see from the photos it is in pretty good condition nevertheless.
For bidders outside the UK, I will confirm the cost prior to payment by PayPal, depending on where you are located and whether you want tracking, but I anticipate the cost to be somewhere between £10 and £40 depending on what you wanted. For UK bidders the cost will be for two separate 1st class signed for packets via Royal Mail (about £8.00) - if you are local you can collect directly.
I will be happy to answer any questions that you might have about my listing and can provide more photos. I hope that somebody will welcome this item into their collection and get as much pleasure from it as I have – the memory remains - even if the stuff has gone. Good luck bidding.
