Description
SIGNED Ruggiero Ricci Violin Concerto with the LPO under Fistoulari. 1st anywhere Stereo issue UK Decca Eclipse ECS 641, no SXL exists, just a 1957 LXT 5000 series mono, but two tapes were running at a number of those recordings which resulted in a handful of non reissue 1st stereo offerings in the Eclipse series, famously this and a Knappertsbusch Wagner. Large bold clear signature has some age fading (would have been black, now dark olive), but no other problems to this, lovely clear full mint sound, best 1W1W stampers.
This signature was obtained by an employee of Philips Records at a concert by the CBSO under Fremaux and starring Ricci at Birmingham Town Hall on the 21st of November 1974. I bought the eight records signed by Ricci from his Widow. She explained that he was a guest of the Decca Representative at the concert, who always was on the guest list for Decca Artists of classical concerts in his catchment area. I will not sell all of them, and may decide how many to keep on the response to these. The buyer can have more details of the provenance.
No playback issues, on my moving coil a full near mint.
This is clean with good sheen , has clean labels, and the sleeve is near mint.
