Description
This is the original deep-groove RVG-stamped “P”-pressing of “The Three Sounds” on Blue Note BLP 1600 – their first recording. The playing surface is in near-new condition, perhaps played once; some inaudible and superficial splotching, caused when records are stored for a long time in their non-acid free inner sleeves. The laminated West 63rd cover is clean throughout, with sharp corners and unworn seams; 1” wear on the top seam, at the opening; small discoloration at the lower right corner of the back slick. The upper left corner of the back is inscribed “Dear Max, This is the new one. Best regards to you and Lorraine. Alfred”. “Max” is Max Gordon, owner of the Village Vanguard; “Lorraine” is Lorraine Gordon, Max’s wife; “Alfred” is Alfred Lion, co-owner of Blue Note Records who was formerly married to Lorraine. Personnel include Gene Harris, Andrew Simpkins, and Bill Dowdy. WE NOW ACCEPT PAYPAL. However, you can continue to pay directly to us using VISA, MasterCard or Discover credit cards, if you prefer.
