.PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! Zappa-philes will recognize names like Aynsley Dunbar, Don Preston and George Duke within the five lengthy tracks include the witty "Cletus Awreetus-Awrightus," the intricate title track, the rock-edged "For Calvin (And His Next Two Hitch-Hikers)," and the more lyrical "Blessed Relief. "Grand Wazoo" is an astonishinng work of melodic inventiveness and orchestration, each of its tunes can leave you breathless with their wealth of ideas and ironic genius Frank Z expounded.
Zappa, as praised as he has been, remains deserving of further acknowledgement --belonging to a very small and selected group of American composers without whom it would be literally impossible to think of American music, period.
Zappa -like Aaron Copland, Duke Ellington or Miles Davis, to name a few- in their own ways, were ... are ... artists who transformed the musical genres they cultivated, and made them something they have never been before.
In Zappa's case, the amazing satirist he was or the tremendous guitar player he could be, often, overshadowed the seminal composer and arranger he's always been.
"Grand Wazoo" does the latter complete and unarguable justice...an album that continues the jazz-rock thread of Zappa's work, which began with HOT RATS and continued with WAKA/JAWAKA.
Zappa coined the expression "The Grand Wazoo" back in 1969, recording a song of that title with Don Van Vliet on vocals, with lyrics pointedly aimed at the old guard of society

- The cover: rated: near M- thick gatefold, front panel adorned by colorful art design in notable Zappa bizarre (madness) collage, of sorts...back cover shows trace of wear starting at very bottom, is still "EX"excellent, and inside gatefold, M- clean photos of the Zappa band, absolutely hand signed by Zappa thin red ink pen by Frank, "...love F. Zappa" pen ink isn't bold by nature of the glossy material, yet still very legible. There are no faded areas on the gatefold, no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ...
- ZAPPA Concert ticket included from which the Zappa signature was obtained, 54 years ago. The legendary artist, now deceased.
