RED SNOW / OH WHAT A DAY ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by THE SILHOUETTES. Original US pressing on the WESTERN WORLD label (WW5503), from 1969. Desirable, psychedelic double-sider by the cult studio group of Conversations With The Silhouettes Lp infamy on the Segué label. Sophisticated sunshine pop / psych lounge on OH WHAT A DAY with their trademark, counterpoint voices over a carefree / groovy hippie influenced rhythm section with beautiful orchestrations. Creative, West Coast Americana / counterculture sound for lovers of The Free Design / The Hellers / Triste Janero et al ;) The RED SNOW side is an oriental tinged spiritual jazz cum psych funk theme with fender bassline / vibes / mystical flute solos a la Rahsaan Roland Kirk / Yusef Abdul Lateef and amazingly exotic percussion with shimmering bells and sea shells to the fade. A groaning male voice floats in and out of the stoned music on this theme too. Loud production sound. Great for DJs. Rare 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition with some hairlines. Loud production sound. Both sides play with surface noises due to the actual vinyl quality which has tiny (barely visible) pinhead sized pressing defects dotted over the vinyl. Record housed in plain card sleeve. No original picture sleeve exists. Rare 45!!!
