SIMON JONES - MELANIE AND ME LP
EXTREMELY RARE (if not the rarest) Australian Folk/Psych LP

Condition (Cover/Vinyl): VG / EX+
Notes: I'd probably normally grade the cover a VG+ but downgraded in case buyer is picky. It does have a few small faults.
It is a very thin, fragile cover (you can tell it was made with a small budget). Has started to come unglued on bottom seam. About 2-3cm unglued.
Also shows some light creasing in a few spots and a medium sized crease in another spot.
Of course, though I am just listing all the minor faults. The cover still looks great.
Back of cover has some writing on it. Looks to have been written by someone who had something to do with making of the LP or movie.
The credit to Margaret Murray has 'Jones' written over the top of her surname and an arrow with the writing 'Under New Management'.
Perhaps she married Simon Jones. Don't know what the story is there...
Record is hard to fault. It has a very light scuff on Side 2. Wouldn't imagine it would affect playback at all.
I haven't play tested the record. When I took the photos that was only the second time I had removed it from the sleeve since I've owned it.
Probably only ever played once. It does show a spindle mark on the label.
Also shows a few fingerprints around the edges.
The last photo gives you a pretty good idea of what the record will look like. Some lint has managed to sneak its way inside the cover. No dirt or dust though.
The thing that looks like a long hair in the last photo is actually a hair-thin piece of vinyl still attached from when the record was cut.
Shows just how little handling this record has had.
The short of it is; it's nearly perfect.
If my memory serves me correctly there were only around 100 copies of this pressed.
From what I can tell this record hasn't appeared on eBay for over 5 years.
Don't wait another 5 years for another copy to pop up!
You will not be disappointed with this copy!
While I haven't listened to this copy, a friend of mine managed to track down a digital copy for me.

Condition grading:
Mint
Perfect. Record has never been played. Possibly still sealed.
Near Mint (NM)
The record itself is in mint condition and will appear to have not been played. The cover/inserts are perfect.
Excellent (EX)
The record may show very slight signs of play (No more than a couple of light scuffs). Should play through with little surface noise. Cover and inserts will look near new.
Very Good (VG)
The record may look to have been played a few times but has been fairly well looked after. Should play through without much surface noise. A slight amount of wear and tear on the cover or insert.
Good (G)
Record shows obvious signs of use. Should play through without skipping but there will be surface noise. Neither record, cover, nor contents will display multiple major defects.
Fair (F)
The record has been mistreated, has multiple faults. Probably scratched. The cover and contents show signs of creasing, scuffing, tears, etc.
A plus (+) or minus (-) may be used when record/cover is in between 2 grades.
