Description
SIMON and GARFUNKEL: "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme"
WHITE LABEL PROMO "RADIO STATION COPY - NOT FOR RESALE" pressing! Mono LP: CL 2563 comes with a radio timing strip on the front. Vinyl is VG with a LOT of light surface scuffing. We spot-checked the sound, and there is surface crackle throughout the entire record, on both sides, but it's mainly audible on the quieter tracks, which means most of the songs on this classic album. The noise is not really noticeable on the louder tracks. This is an early THIRD pressing: both sides have the A3 suffix machine-stamped with the matrix numbers in the dead-wax on each side. As you hard-core collectors know, the record company foolishly and criminally blundered and used the MASTER production tape to cut ALL of the lacquers for pressing all the Simon & Garfunkel albums from day one, as well as for the first generations of CDs. The result is that the sound got progressively worse over time. The recent re-mastered from the multi-tracks CD reissues correct this problem, but for those of us who prefer ANALOG VINYL, the earlier the pressing, the better the sound. That said, this record is still enjoyable DESPITE the surface noise. And a MUST for any S & G completist. The jacket is in VG condition at best, with stains on the timing strip and on the back side that you can see in our detailed photos. The front has visible but light ring-wear / shelf-wear, and the back has shelf-wear as well. The corners are worn as well, but the spine and seams are intact, with no seam-splits. Despite the stains, there's no writing, no holes, no notches, and no price-stickers, nor sticker residue. Please click HERE to see all the great
