Description

Lorez Alexandria was one of the best Jazz singers in the business. She was much loved by those that knew of her fine talent. She never received the recognition that she much deserved. This album, Sing No Sad Songs For Me, recorded in 1961 is one of her best. It has been my favorite album of the many that I have by her. I got acquainted with Lorez in 1984 when she was appearing in a club in San Francisco. She signed all the Lp albums that I had at the time. I am parting with this album because it is in mono and I was very fortunate to get it in stereo in mint condition. Not many copies were released in stereo. Actually, there isn't that much difference between the two formats because the stereo was done near the beginning of when albums were released in stereo and wasn't as good as later stereo releases. My favorite song on this album is her outstanding rendition of "I'll Remember April." No singer can touch her on this song. It truly belongs to her. All the tracks are equal to this one but this one stands out as my favorite. I will gradually part with my other signed albums by her when I get them in CD format.

  One look at the pristine Lp cover and you will know the condition of the album. It has been well cared for and the cover looks like it is brand new. No tears, stains or splits--like new plus, you have a rare autograph by Lorez. She states on the cover:  "Scott--Please take care of this. I don't have it myself. Lorez Alexandria."
