Year of release:--1971

Catalog/Label number:--6338 069 (Holland pressing)

Condition of vinyl:--VG++ to Mint-    The glossy vinyl record is super clean and looks close to perfect. Labels have no spindle marks. No warps.

Play grade:--Mint-    The entire album sounded great and played extremely well.

Condition of record cover:--VG++   Gatefold cover has very little wear. No cuts, no holes, no tears, no seam splits.

Notes:--From Eduardo Rivadavia at allmusic: "Like a vintage wine, Sir Lord Baltimore's first album, Kingdom Come, was deemed to be nothing special when it was unleashed in 1970, but after aging for years in the dusty cellars of musical memory, its groundbreaking sonic maelstrom spun of savage volume and distortion would ultimately be vindicated for presaging the rise of heavy metal (Kingdom Come indeed). None of this was of much use to the Brooklyn natives back in 1971, however, as they prepared to reenter the studio with newly added fourth member, Joey Dambra (brother of lead guitarist Lou), for a second, and, unbeknownst to them, final time. What's more, the band's powerful manager, Dee Anthony (Humble Pie, Peter Frampton, Joe Cocker, etc.), had recently convinced them to sever ties with their discoverer and creative advisor, Mike Appel, and although Anthony made good on his promise of recording contracts (with Mercury) and high-profile gigs (opening for Black Sabbath, among others), SLB seemed wanting for guidance on their sophomore, eponymous album. Side one, in particular, was almost unrecognizable as the work of the same blissfully naïve but inspired hooligans who had raped and pillaged their way across Kingdom Come with wild abandon; as opening track "Man from Manhattan" was a clumsy art rock pastiche featuring several disconnected sections over the course of ten confusing minutes, while the second track, "Where Are We Going," unsuccessfully attempted to mix soul singers and hard rock, and was further dampened by overdubbed crowd noises to make it sound like a live recording. For its part, side two boasted a far more familiar-sounding and infinitely more satisfying quartet of concise, powerful heavy rockers like "Chicago Lives" and "Loe and Behold" [sic] that were only slightly more "civilized" and, in the case of the mega-riffed "Woman Tamer," notably slower than those first album eruptions -- leaving only the once-again prog-inflected "Caesar LXXI" to bring the LP to a less-than-stellar conclusion. Much like the imminent finale of Sir Lord Baltimore's career, actually, once they were dropped by both Mercury and Anthony following another disappointing showing in record stores with this LP. Their career would never recover, but their legacy would...and how!"

All unsealed LP's are thoroughly inspected and checked for warps on a turntable. Many are then play graded. If played it will be mentioned in the description. All come with a new 3 mil poly outer sleeve for protection. All unsealed LP's also are shipped inside a new inner sleeve.

Grading

Mint Record : Perfect record. No marks or defects.

Mint Album cover: Perfect cover. No marks or defects.

M- or NM Record: Nearly perfect. High gloss. At most, a light scuff appears. Plays very well with no surface noise.

M- or NM Album cover: Nearly perfect with only minor signs of wear. There should be no ring wear.

VG++ Record: Very clean. Perhaps some light surface scuffs, no scratches. Should play and look very good with faint, if any, audible surface noise.

VG++ Album cover: Some minor ring wear, but otherwise the artwork should be mostly unaffected. Also, there can be some minor creases in the corners but no splits in seams.

VG+ Record: The record shows signs of use, but plays well despite quite visible surface marks and possibly some light scratches. This grading is often used for records which have not been cared for perfectly but still play well overall. A few very faint clicks may be allowed, and will be included in the description.

VG+ Album cover: May have corners that may be slightly bent, but not broken. There may be wear to the seams but no tears or holes. Perhaps some small writing.

VG Record: Looks used, light scratches, no gouges. Still plays fairly well. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music.

VG Album cover: There may be seam splitting, but not complete separation of the sleeve panels from each other. There will be noticeable ring wear, but most of the cover should still be in good condition.
