 ALEXANDER SKIP SPENCE LP OAR (Columbia Records CS 9831). Released 1969.
  

   Orig. US stereo red two-eye. Moby Grape frontman. Recd. in Nashville by Charlie Bradley (Bradley's Barn), hence a Bob Dylan influence? Orig. logo'd inner sleeve. Light to medium water damage with deep, rich color still intact. "1A" on matrix stamp: 1st take at the pressing plant?? 

  I notice significant cover deterioration, but I still gain much visual pleasure from this artifact. And the surface noise did not greatly hinder my enjoyment of this copy. (Matrix #: "XSM139778-1A/79-1A").

  



DISC  VG
   A few light flecks. Play-grading on an average cartridge reveals a few ticks & some background noise. Undetected is any distortion in the music grooves themselves. No side-to-side tonearm swaying; a little up-and-down tonearm motion. This album has been safely stored upright in a climate-controlled environment.  

COVER  VG- 

  No tape, cut-out marks, stickers, writing or puncture holes. 6" top seam split; 3" bottom split. 2" spine seam split + tears on spine print scuffs across front & faint ring wear. Nice label & sharp-cut hole: nearly free of spindle scuffs. Inner free of tears, creases & marks with slight yellowing.
