What is it?
Slapp Happy - Slapp Happy (Virgin, V 2014) - with super rare booklet!!
God, I am selling some brilliant stuff. So, this is the second Slapp Happy LP - Peter Blegvad, Anthony Moore and Dagmar Krause recorded in a very expensive studio. I have listed it under prog but it is kind of uncategorisable; if you like Caravan you would dig it, but if you have been looking at my listings for the TV Personalities and are curious as to what else I have, I would suggest that you look for Michaelangelo from this record on YouTube - where art rock meets indie pop, avant la lettre. Blue Flower off the first LP is also amazing. Dagmar Krause's voice is incredibly squeaky - like Licorice from the Incredible String Band - and Blegvad is a brill, brill writer.
Condition
Sleeve: VG+: The unlaminated sleeve is fundamentally spot on. The reason I am not grading it as EXCELLENT is the booklet. If you look closely you can see that the previous owner stored their records somewhere a tiny bit damp at some point, so the staples have gone a little bit rusty and stained the outer cover a tiny bit. NB: The original £2.45 price sticker is on the cover. I think it is cute so I left it there, but a bit of lighter fuel would get it off.
Record: VG+: A little bit of foxing on the labels (may have been stored somewhere damp at some point - though not by me) and there is a surface graze at the end of Michaelangelo, which should not spoil your enjoyment. Incidentally, my principle (commercial suicide as it may be) is never to grade as MINT unless I know for an absolute fact that the record has never been played before.
TRUST MY GRADINGS; I worked in a top London collector's shop for years, and my VG is most people's MINT on eBay.
I recycle packaging when possible; it's cheap and also the right thing to do, people.
