Description
Undefeated 1986 classic by Slayer.
Please read the description carefully at it has seen a bit of use and is not really going to be suitable for those particularly fussy about condition.
I have cleaned it up using a professional record cleaning machine and carefully inspected, tested and given a detailed and honest appraisal of condition.
It's priced well below the market average and very fairly indeed given some of the ridiculous prices people are asking for average copies of this, so all in all an enjoyable enough budget purchase for someone to add to their collection and spin with their friends.
Returns are free and no quibble if you are not 100% on it.
VINYL
The record was dusty and has been deep cleaned on a MOTH/2 RCM to remove that. The surface now looks a lot better but has lost overall lustre.
There are some cosmetic signs the record was not looked after properly.
Numerous wispy contact rubs about both sides along with some light hairline surface scratches.
There is a feelable scuff across half of A1 however not causing too much of a problem - causing some initial pops and then only now and again for it's duration (mainly a couple of pops in guitar break A1)
Besides this the record is free of deep scratches or nicks, horizontal groove scratches, cracks, damp, mould and that sort of thing.
The record sits flat and I have listened to pretty much all of it and have experienced no skips or sticking.
Overall the sound is strong and powerful without clipping and buzzing on the higher frequencies.
The main degradation in sound is by way of some all things considered - pretty light background vinyl presence. This is mainly in the opening grooves, dead wax, guitar breaks, softer section or fade outs, however even here not close to overpowering the music or causing too much intrusion.
Being a Slayer album you cannot notice this too much during most of the playback; when the band is at full pelt - and overall the songs sound as you might hope for, with an occasional pop coming through or some surface presence audible as mentioned.
It's taken a bit of punishment however still has plenty of thrashing death to dish out!
SLEEVE
The sleeve has general age and shelf wear throughout.
Of note the original owner seems to have been a smoker as it has that odour about it but again, not overpoweringly so.
You can take a look at the pictures to get the general idea.
