Description
This is a first pressing 7" vinyl copy of legendary Palo Alto, CA punk band the Sleepers' first release, the Seventh World EP. This record is EXTREMELY rare. I'm guessing this particular copy was given to a local radio station to play at the time of its release, because still taped to the inner sleeve (with the tape very yellowed) are hand-written instructions that read: "bdcst (broadcast) quality. --So it should be turned up to compensate." I would venture to say this was likely written by someone associated with the group or maybe an actual band member (probably not Ricky ;). There is also a sticker from a record store on the upper right corner of the outer sleeve that looks quite old. It reads "GRAMOPHONE DISCOUNT $1.25." Might be the original price tag or from a resale a short time after '78. Needless to say, you won't find this 45 for that price in record stores these days. In fact, you probably won't see it, period. Vinyl is in Excellent++ condition and plays perfectly. This EP was never actually remastered to CD from the original tapes (probably because of loss or destruction), only transferred to the digital format from an original copy of the record, so this is certainly the best way to hear this music. I would rate the sleeve as Good+ to Excellent-. The pictures show the overall condition well. This EP has been re-released on other labels as a 7". This is an Original First Print.
