Description
HERE'S a splendid one-two punch of hotness from 1927 by two formidable Victor bands:
"SLIPPIN' AROUND" by RED AND MIFF'S STOMPERS. A gutsy composition by trombonist MIFF MOLE, this piece features him in an extensive exposition of his tromboning skills, which were amazing, to say the least. Jack Teagarden came to New York later that year, and was the new slip-horn star in town. BUT I still can't see why he eclipsed Mole so utterly, especially with an exemplary side like this as evidence.
"HALLUCINATIONS" by the COON-SANDERS ORCHESTRA. A wacky, art-deco masterpiece, impeccably played by this amazing orchestra. You can hear why, in spite of all the competition in town, they still ruled the roost!
This original 1927 "Scroll" Victor 21397 is in clean E condition.
