SLS 832 1st ed Perlman Paganini Violin Concerto box 2lp

Description

EMI/HMV 1972 Pressed and printed in UK on the Color Stamp label.  (First issue) 1st Lp is Paganini Violin Concerto No.1 played by Itzhak Perlman and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Conductor Lawrence Foster. last track side 2 is Sarasate Carmen Fantasy.

Record 2 is Paganini 24 Caprices opus 1

This is a 2 LP box set (also coded 1E 191 50167-8).

LP'S ARE VERY CLEAN, there is some wide gray  visual scuffs   on 3 sides (1,2&3) test played, very quiet, no damage or wear related noises. only occasional soft pops (see worst in photo No 7 on side 3, non sounding fingernail scuff)

LP Condition (see Photo's) Summary - IN SHORT Excellent

All records have been washed with a knosti wet bath, THEN TREATED with 'LAST' record cleaner and preservative. LAST is an archive quality preserver said to protect LP from wear damage for upto 200 plays. Most Audiophiles such as yourselves probably already use LAST or similar, I just saved you the time and expense.

 Albums were both then FULLY TEST PLAYED . BEAUTIFUL NO SIGN OF WEAR DAMAGE, VISUALLY THEY ARE ALMOST LIKE NEW EXCEPT FOR THE FINGERNAIL SCUFFING, ALL SCUFFS PRODUCE NO EFFECT ON REPLAY TO MUSIC REPRODUCTION

I suspect these may have only been played once or twice. RECORD ONE STILL HAD A PRESSING BURR IN THE SPINDLE HOLE, AND WAS TIGHT ON SPINDLE DURING TEST PLAY

Only a few odd  pops and clicks, as usual associated with vinyl recordings, but they would be more described as odd pops and clicks without repetitive patterns associated with scratch style damage.

There is no sign of rotational spindle wear.  Labels are in excellent order. ALTHOUGH LABEL SIDE 1 HAS SOME SMALL RADIAL CRACKS, (SEE PHOTO 6), NOT AFFECTING anything at all other than visually (ITS THE SAME RECORD AS WAS TIGHT ON SPINDLE WITH A PRESSING BURR )

Records are very glossy with that "new" look to them .

Box condition (See Photo's) IN SHORT,AVERAGE,   A FEW SCUFFS ON FRONT AND SIDES, , HOWEVER THERE ARE NO SPLIT CORNERS ON BOX , NO visible shelf wear  to bottom of box . The Spline (hinging edge) of the box shows NO SIGNS OF DAMAGE , the corners of the box are solid, not split as many boxes do, SOME  minimal wear to corners due to rubbing.

Booklet There is a 4 page, black and white booklet lp size, square in this box.   No tears or rips or stains etc.  As new

Dust Jackets original plastic lined paper sleeves no tears or seam splits, light creases, in very good condition. 

 Having just  cleaned the LP's so well, I am supplying a more modern archive quality sleeve with anti stat and no scratching properties.  This is from the modern audiophile company Mobile Fidelity (MFSL) and is standard issue with their vinyl pressings. i WILL INCLUDE THE OLD SLEEVES AS WELL,  IT IS  THE EMI PLASTIC LINED paper in good non stained or discolored condition

Mailing costs will be significant as complete box and packing will weigh in just under 1 Kg
