SLS 879 (HQS 1319-24 ) – SHOSTAKOVICH: STRING QUARTETS 1-13 – BORODIN QUARTET
Melodiya (USSR) stereo recordings issued by HMV as boxed set of 6-LPs, catalogue numbers SLS 879 (HQS 1319-1324). Dmitri Shostakovich’s String Quartets Nos.1 – 13 played by the Borodin Quartet.
The 6 discs are in fantastic condition with no visible marks; we have not played them. 8-page booklet has light creasing. In addition there is a programme for a series of concerts at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, given by the Borodin Quartet playing all the Shostakovich quartets plus other works (probably in 1985). Box is clean but has 2 splits on right-hand opening side.
