Thank you for viewing my ad for this reasonably rare and sought after collectible, a wonderful album absolutely overlooked back in its day. SLY BOOTS are Michael Wendroff and David Greenberg’s folk rock band. This recording produced by Koppelman-Rubin, who also had high hopes for their Faithful Virtue Record label (think John Sebastian and the Loving Spoonful), provides an interesting peak into the late ‘60s New York hippie, rock ’n roll, folk and psychedelic era. Frankly, the track “I’m Innocent” would have been a hit - if the record company had gotten behind it. No stranger to success then and now, Charles Koppelman certainly had the juice to pull it off. He went on to sign incredible artists for and become CEO of Capitol/EMI, Steve Madden, Martha Stewart and Six Flags among other companies he ran. Meanwhile, Sly Boots is lost to time, and like so many other undiscovered groups lives on for a select few fans on vinyl, and in this case sealed in it’s original factory shrink-wrap.

"Excellent, free wheeling acid folk with some seriously on the edge, hard living hippie vocals lined by some fuzz drenched guitar jams. Great nomadic stoner psychedelia led primarily by David Greenberg and Michael Wendroff (who later cut two solo albums for Buddah and was a member of Lou Reed's mid 70s band)."
