Small Faces, From The Beginning.

1967 England pressed Decca Records mono LP, LK 4879.

Earliest issue with red and silver labels and distinctive Decca pressed inset groove.

In summary a well played issue which is nowhere near mint but is a notch above the majority of extant copies.

Vinyl visually around G to VG minus. Surfaces are still glossy but displaying a number of scuff marks and gentle scratches, some of which are more obviously visible.

A fair amount of spindle activity is noticeable at centre of labels but not to the point of whitening or surface loss and the labels are otherwise clean and unmarked.

Playback is conservatively graded as G. This is mainly due to tracks A1 and A2 displaying some crackle and ticks, although this does not overpower the music. Otherwise some occasional crackle and ticks but well behind the loud and bright cut, which is not distorted.

Much of the LP actually plays very cleanly at VG plus or better, and on the whole the LP still provides a very pleasurable listening experience.

Presumed original inner sleeve VG plus, minor wear and small nicks, no major issues or splits.

Front laminated sleeve aroung VG minus. Main panels are broadly clean front and unmarked, no pen, stickers etc. Small piece of surface loss to bottom right corner of front panel. Slight ringwear impression and some grubby marks to matt rear panel. A few linear imperfections and minor air pockets to laminate at front panel. Some small pinch line creases leading in from edge areas. Tips a little worn. Entry side beginning to feather and brittle but still intact and fairly tidy.
