Description
This is an auction for a rare LP by Small Faces- Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake.
This was released on Immediate Records in 1968 and has catalogue number IMLP012. This is the 1st pressing with a lilac label and circular sleeve and is the rarer mono pressing
Matrix Numbers- IMLP 012 1L IMLP 012 2L
Condition: The foldout sleeve has 4 hinges, the outside hinge is fine, the 2nd hinge is not connected, the third hinge is half connected and the 4th hinge is fine. The rear sleeve has a little discolouring, a small tear running in about 1 inch from the edge and a few small creases. Other than that it is fine with the other sleeve sheets being in very nice conditon, no discolouring etc. As this stands despite the very usual problem of hinge damage this is in good condition but accordingly can only be graded at Good, but is obviously better than graded.
Labels: Both labels are clean and look new, under closer examination only a few spider spindle trails can be seen on each side, the centre hole is perfect and shows no signs of wear.
Vinyl- both sides retain there new shine, when examined under a strong light only two tiny feather scratches can be seen. These are completely non-audible. There are also numerous dust/dirt spots and patches.
I have played this through both sides and found that feckling can be heard at the beginning of each side which clears on side one to just be heard occasionally. On side 2 it is a little more consistant and can be heard for some part of this side.
Now for the good news, the feckling is for certain being caused by the dust/dirt marks. When playing this the feckling was only audible on both sides when the needle past over one of the marks. I removed this and gave it a clean with standard record cleaner fluid. It played much better but by no means clear with some patches of dirt/dust being very stuborn and still audible. The music itself plays strong with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever. This has been only played a few times and thus retains its sound quality. So sure am I that once this record has been placed in a record cleaning machine or cleaned properly that you can upgrade this to a comfortable near mint that I will offer a no quibble full refund on this item.
So as this stands this plays with no major deterioation in sound quality and is graded at VG+, once cleaned this will play with very little, if any, lessening in sound quality and be a comfortable near mint or your money back.
