Description
Up for auction is a rare, original UK pressing (IMSP 012) of The Small Faces' classic psychedelic album entitled OGDENS' NUT GONE FLAKE. This is NOT the bright pink label reissue from 1970 that is often for sale on eBay. The colour of the labels on this copy is similar to those which are found on early mono pressings from 1968. This guaranteed first pressing features the original lilac coloured labels that state "FOR AMAZING RESULTS THIS RECORD SHOULD BE PLAYED AT FULL VOLUME" on the top perimeter. As with all original pressings, the K T stamper code is located in raised letters on the Side 1 labels (please see photo below). The matrix numbers in the trail-off vinyl are IMSP 012-1Y and IMSP 012-2Y. This copy also features the beautiful round Garrod & Lofthouse die-cut cover, which was designed to replicate Ogdens Company tobacco tins.
Featuring the soulful vocals and guitar playing of the great Steve Marriott, The Small Faces were one of the best bands of the entire 1960's. OGDENS' NUT GONE FLAKE is generally considered to be their best album. It is also one of the very first concept albums in rock 'n roll history. If you enjoy psychedelic rock music, you will not want to miss hearing this wonderful, forgotten masterpiece!
On a grading scale of M-, EX, VG+, VG, G, and P the condition of this album is as follows:
Cover = EX (all seams on the delicate cover are tight; just some very light age wear)
Disc = VG+ (plays great)
