WELCOME TO OUR AUCTION!
On offer today is a Original 1967 UK issue of The Small Faces (Self titled) LP!
Released in June 1967, This was the 1st LP the Small Faces recorded for Andrew Loog Oldham's 'Immediate' label and it showed the band developing its style with more complex song writing and arrangements, Just for those who don't know, THIS is the 2nd studio album by the band, Their first was the Self titled album for Decca in 1966, Then Decca released a rag bag compilation called 'From the beginning' to cash in on the recent move to immediate, which a lot of people seem to think is their 2nd studio LP? It isn't, This is! Released in Mono and Stereo (stereo is very rare agreed) but to find a clean decent mono copy is very hard!
This is the 1967 UK 1st pressing Mono edition (IMLP 008) on the lilac 'Immediate' label complete with original poly-lined inner sleeve!
Sleeve Condition : VG++ (The original Garrod and Lofthouse unlaminated flipback sleeve is in Very nice condition with hardly any wear whatsoever! Usually these covers turn up with very bad ringwear, torn and splits, This one is very nice and tidy! No ringwear at all! No splits, writing or any thing that would spoil it. The only minor thing is a crease in the bottom right corner and some yellowing on the opening sleeve, apart from that it's pretty fantastic!
Record Condition : VG+ The original heavyweight 1st press vinyl is in great condition and still retains its just pressed sheen! There's a bit of a medium mark on side one on track 4 and beginning of 5 but only produces a very very mild 'Tick' and anyway, the music is mastered loud so the tick is only mildly evident on the dead wax between the tracks, The rest of the LP plays absolutely perfectly with clarity and depth! Absolutely marvellous! Check out the photos!
