Most sought-after MPS Jazz Funk record by US and Japanese collectors. I was asked about this a million times. I finally decided to sell this holy grail. It was bootlegged in the U.K., but the repress looks bad. Badly scanned cover and bad bad vinyl quality. This is the original pressing in NM shape.
The band originally comes from Palo Alto, California.
One track ("Curtis") was featured on compilations. But it's not the best tune in my opinion. You need to listen to "Griffo" and "Shelda". The vibes sound soooo nice. Woodi Webb on vibes and Curtis Clark on piano composed all tracks. There're also organ, bass guitar, bass violin, drums, congas, HARP, sax and bass clarinett. I have hardly heard anything like this before. The mellowest Jazz tunes. Some nice samples to be found, but who would abuse such a beautiful record. Essential German Jazz on the mighty MPS label. My favorite record out of German. For the advanced listeners.This is their second LP. The first one can't be compared to this LP. The line-up was totally different. Plus, the first LP was a recorded jam session. Kinda Free Jazz like.
