Prison Bound Demos

These are the songs which were recorded between Mommys Little Monster and Prison Bound. They sound completely different compared to the Prison Bound LP. They are far more punkrock, and less country. Imagine the Prison Bound Record in “Mommys Little Monster” vein. If you like the first SxDx record, you will love this.

Tracklist:

1. i want what i want

2. indulgence

3. mass hysteria

4. on my nerves

5. lawless

Good sound quality, B+

White Light, White Heat, White Trash Demos

„The lost Social Distortion“ record. 11 Songs, studio quality. These songs were recorded between “Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell” and “White Light, White Heat, White Trash”. The songs are more “Country”, and less “Punkrock”. Mike Ness didn’t release this record, for what reason ever. Here are the songs, complete new sound, and slightly different lyrics. “

Tracklist:

6. love me tonight

7. crown of thorns

8. like you have never done before

9. lost and found

10. got nothing comin

11. do it again

12. dope fiend blues

13. i am in love with my car

14. cant hide

15. don’t drag me down

16. don’t keep me haning on

perfect quality! A++

1980 – 1982 Demos

Very good sound quality for such old songs, and great recordings. They were recorded before “Mommys Little Monster” and the “Hell comes to your house” Sampler. They sound even rougher than the first record.

Tracklist

17. all the answers

18. lude boy

19. mainliner

20. moral threat

21. orange county jail

22. playpen

23. telling them

Very good quality! B+

OtherDemos and Promo Songs

Interesting songs, only released on rare Social Distortion PromoCDs, or never released. (Tainted Love, Company C). The song „Company C“ is one of greatest Social Distortion Songs I ever heard.

Tracklist:

24. alone and forsaken (promo)

25. ready for love (promo)

26. shame on me (promo)

27. it’s all over now (promo)

28. pretty thing (promo)

29. bad luck (from somewhere between heaven and hell promo tape)

30. tainted love (unreleased cover song)

31. death or glory (clash cover song)

32. shame on me (version 2004)

33. company c (unreleased track)

All great quality! A+

SxDx / Mike Ness featuring

The Ramones coversong is all right, but nothing special. The duets with Eddie Vedder are awesome. Quality is almost as good as on a official live record.

Tracklist:

34. ball and chain (with eddie vedder)
35. monday morning (with eddie vedder)
36. sweet virginia (with eddie vedder)
37. blitzkrieg bop (with the offspring)

Unreleased Accoustic Recordings

This part of the record is unbelievable!

38. Prison Bound
Best version of this song, ever. It sounds very realistic, like he recorded it in prison.

39. Making Believe
Unplugged version of this punkrock classic.

40. Don’t Think Twice
I think this version of the song is even better, than on the Mike Ness solo record. Sounds a lot rougher.

41. The Ballad Of A Lonely Man
At the beginning, Mike Ness explains that he wanted Johnny Cash to sing this song.

42. My Gal Treats Me Mean
Unreleased Song, funny lyrics.

43. Folsom Prison Blues
Nice Mike Ness interpretation of this Johnny Cash classic.

44. Ball and Chain
Great unplugged Version of this song.

45. Lonesome Train
Great Song, also unreleased

46. Bad Luck
Unreleased unplugged Version of this Social D. classic.

47. Reach For The Sky

Sounds unplugged as good as plugged. That great, that it should have been released on record.

48. Story Of My Life

Punkrock classic as acoustic version.

49. Prison Bound
Another different version of this unplugged song.

50. Angels Wings
If you hear this song, you won’t understand why this version was not released on Sex, Love,… Better then the original Version.

Sound quality B+ to A+

Unreleased Live Tracks

This part is unbelievable . 15 songs, Social Distortion has never put on record. All this songs have only been played live. All Social Distortion songs, no cover songs!

51. I won’t run no more
Mike Ness likes the Germans, but not their country. This song is already a classic.

52. Angels Wings
“In this country, you need a license to drive, hunt and fish, and do all that, but you need nothing to bring a child into this world”. Complete different lyrics then released on the record.

53. Diamond in the Rough
Brand new song, perfect live quality.

54. Behind Closed Doors
Very old song, quality not that good.

55. I Don’t Want Your Bail
Old song, pretty bad live quality.

56. Search and Destory
Old song, pretty good quality for that age.

57. Young and Restless
This song is awesome, it is a pity that the quality is only average.

58. Road Zombie
Live acoustic from the last tour, very good quality.

59. Private Hell
Great song, quality almost as good as on official live record.

60. Black Magic
Great song, quality almost as good as on official live record.

61. Sick Girl
Played in the CBGB, different lyrics for the girls ;-)

62. That’s All Right
Slightly different version.

63. Bakersfield
Great ballad, good quality.

64. Barfly / Punk Skunk
Great punk rock song. Would have been fit on the first Social Distortion Record!

65. The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde
Great punk rock hymn about Bonnie and Clyde...as done by Georgie Fame originally...this version rocks massively.

Live Cover Songs.

This songs have been covered live. They have never been released on record (except „Send Her Back“). “Play with fire” is awesome. Social Distortion created a fast punk rock song out of a Rolling Stones ballad. Same thing, they did with “Under my thumb.” And you won’t believe this: SxDx covered Jimmy Cliff's classic „The Harder They Come“ - did it in „Jamaican-Gangster-Style”

Tracklist:

66. play with fire (rolling stones)

67. the harder the come (jimmy cliff)

68. san Quentin (Johnny cash)

69. wanted man (bob Dylan)

70. send her back (al ferrier)

71. maybelline (chuck berry)

72. bad moon risin (john fogerty)

73. the wanderer (dion)

74. wild thing (the troggs)

75. the little drummer boy (devis, omorati, simeone)

Sound quality reaches from A+ to C-
