Description

Commodore LP, "Deep Sea Chanties and Sod Buster Ballads" with the Almanac Singers, from the early 1950s. This is the LP version of what were once two sets of 78s and is some of the best materail Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger ever recorded with Lee Hays, Mill Lampell, Pete Hawes. Notes by Alan Lomax are on four sheets which were once pasteovers for the 78s. Vinyl plays at VG+(+) with light ticks, some of which are undoubtedly from the 78s. Jacket has seamwear with some cracking, but the seams are not actually split; jacket is basically clean but has some age coloring and a bit of rubwear. Songs are "The Dodger Song", Ground Hog", "House of the Rising Sun", "I Ride an Old Paint", "State of Arkansas", "Hard Ain't It Hard", "Coast of High Barbary", "Away Rio", "Blow the Man Down", "The Golden Vanity", "Blow Ye Wind Heigh-o", and "Haul Away Joe".
