Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my pop and progressive records that are from my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, an extremely rare 1st (and only) Italian pressing of Soft Machine – Softs on the RCA NEON (!) label, cat. no. NEN 00022. This album by Soft Machine was only released on the RCA NEON label in Italy.
The record is in EX+ condition, there are very few non sounding hairlines only. The record is still shiny and shows very little signs that it has been played. The labels are in EX+ condition as well, I haven’t found any spindle marks.
The cover is in EX condition, there are a couple small creases on both front and back. It looks like typical storage wear. The spine also has a couple small bald spots, but the titles are fully legible. Besides mentioned tiny defects, there is nothing wrong with the cover; no writing, no rips or tears or other unwanted damage. Italian RCA NEON albums never came out with a black inner, so obviously, there is a plain white inner.
This very first Italian pressing of Soft Machine Softs on the RCA NEON label is extremely rare, certainly in this wonderful condition. This record is only one of the 5 Italian only RCA NEON releases and therefore very rare. And musically it is a great progressive Jazz album, a real must have for all fans of Soft Machine and / or progressive jazz and RCA NEON collectors.
