Description
Extremely clean copy of the 1970 Soft Machine double LP release, "Third", UK CBS 66246. This was a groundbreaking album with each side of the record consisting of a single long composition. Its music explores the emerging jazz fusion of the early 1970s. Third marks the most major of Soft Machine's several shifts in musical genre over their career, completing their transition from psychedelic music to jazz, and is a significant milestone of the Canterbury scene.
This is an exceptionally clean copy of this album. I purchased it in 1970 and it is from my personal collection. The vinyl is in "NM" condition with no marks, scuffs or surface noise; the jacket is also"NM-" condition with only the slightest ringwear at "12 and 6" on the front and back cover and minor edgewear on the bottom seam; the gatefold is completely intact with no seam splits (see photos).
Vinyl grading is based on the Goldmine standard as follows:
“SS” Still Sealed – For the collector that demands nothing but perfection.
“M” Mint - a near perfect, or unplayed record.
“NM” Near Mint - in factory fresh condition, like new.
EX+ - close to like new with only superficial signs of use that don't affect play. Will satisfy all but the most vain and demanding collector.
EX - a used, reasonable copy. Shows slight signs of wear.
