Fine Records, like Lifetime Records a Rochester NY label, pressed this DJ demo for WSAY a local radio station. The Fine label produced two Upstate NY Do-Wop rarities one by Bernie Campbell & the 4 Ekkos and the other by the Four Counts.

The record is flexible vinyl and is VG with some surface scratches on the "A" side. There is a very slight heart warp skip on the intro of the Rose Mary side which could be unintentional poor recording quality or a skip caused by a tiny warp. Visaually it's hard to determine. Both sides label titles are hand written (see photo). The A side is an incredible haunting white group vocal- ROSE MARY- recorded in early 60s classic white group do-wop harmony. Truly a collector's masterpiece. To the best of my knowledge, this record was never formally pressed and released by Fine. To say it's rare would be an understatement !

The flip is a nothing instrumental "POW".

Have had this record for almost 25 years. Discovered it at a record collector show buried in a large pile of records on a Rochester dealer's table. He had bought out the inventory of the WSAY radio station which he had in a Rochester N.Y. storage facility foryears. He Knew nothing about the group nor had even bothered to play it prior to bringinging it to the show where I purchased it.

Several years later I sent Jeff Kreiter a tape of the record and he listed it in the next edition of his guide as value unknown. The listing was subsequently deleted from the last edition of the Kreiter. I believe that this was a legitimate demo press.

I was never able to turn up any information about the group or its members.

A good guess would place the recording at circa 1961-63, at the end of the do-wop era when some monster collectible records were pressed and subsequently never received airplay as the genre was fast disappearing.
