About This Item: Really nice original Mono pressing vinyl LP of Blue Note 1542 of "Sonny Rollins" self-titled first LP. This is on the Deep Groove Blue Note Records 47 W.63rd, NYC label. In the treail-off/dead wax are the RVG(Rudy Van Gelder) sealed of approval etched in as well as the much desired "ear" symbol. The vinyl is a solid VG++ with not a single needle mark or scratch to be found anywhere, one look at the label's spindle hole will explain as there's nary a mark to be found there, the labels are spotless. The cover which has been protected in shrinkwrap for the last 40 years is VG++. It's not the original shrink but was snuggly placed on in the mid-60's and has remnained on ever since so that it's been well protected all these years.There's a punched hole on the bottom right as well with some lower and upper edge wear and a bit of spine wear, but no spliting whatsoever. There's no writing, bent corers or tears and just the slightest hint of ringwear, almost not worth mentioning it's so light. Overall, this is a thing of beauty.
